Telephone & Remote Assistance
Sometimes, if you have a computer that needs to be repaired, it may work out (especially if it's just a software problem), that all that is required is for instructions to be given over the telephone in order to resolve the issue. However, should the customer not feel confident enough to follow instructions, then it may be necessary, if convenient and possible, to connect remotely via the Internet to the customers computer, and solve the problem that way.
