Ethernet Cable Installation

Ethernet cable, data cable, or network cable, (whatever you want to refer to it as), has been around for many many years now, and is the standard and most common cabling that is used to connect multiple computer systems together.  Originally starting out as gray in colour, it is now very easily available in a number of different colours and types, for different applications.

Ethernet or data cabling is most commonly found installed in business or commercial premises, and is usually hidden from view either behind plastic pvc panelling alongside mains power sockets, or inside walls, underneath floorboards and in drop-ceilings.  It can also be found in home environments too, however this is far less common, although , given the increasing popuarity of working from home, there are certainly far more professional home installations out there than there used to be!

Cabling / Network Problems

Do any of these typical example scenarios match your situation at the moment?

  • A small or large office, with data/network cabling everywhere?
  • Failing equipment and/or cabling, which is in dire need of replacement?
  • Moving offices and need existing equipment re-installing?
  • Moving offices and require brand new ethernet/data cabling and data/network sockets installing?

If so, please don't hesitate to make contact either via contact form or telephone, to discuss your requirements and plan a way forward!

Is Installing cabling worth it?

The answer to that, depends on your situation!  If we're talking about an office environment (where multiple computers can normally be found) then 'yes' is the usual answer.  Although it is common to find laptops in an office, which are usually communicating wirelessly (so no need for wires), it is impractical and not advised to have an entire office set up that way.

It can often cost anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand pounds to have nework cabling installed professionally (certainly in an office), however when you consider that an installation, if done properly, can last a very long time (we're talking years here!), then the initial cost outlay, suddenly seems very reasonable!

Planning a Cabling Installation

To get the ball rolling, you need to make contact via either contact form or telephone, your situation and requirements will be discussed, and a visit will be arranged in order to determine what will be required, size of office building, layout and other details will be determined.  Once all the important details have been noted, you will be sent a quotation, which will need to be agreed before any work is undertaken.  Many major installations or re-wires are often completed outside of business hours including weekends, in order to minimise disruption to your business.

So, if you're looking to get ethernet or data cable installed, possibly including all related hardware such as network sockets, routers, network switches and comms cabinets, then do not hesitate to get in touch!
